Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 72,000 individuals and families each year at our 100 locations, including 10,000 youth. Project Restore Brownsville is a community-based violence intervention and prevention initiative designed to support young people at elevated risk of involvement in gun violence. The program combines intensive case management, mentoring, traumainformed group work, and workforce development opportunities to stabilize participants, reduce violent behavior, and support long-term positive outcomes. Project Restore operates as an enhancement of existing BIVO work, strengthening continuity of care, supervision, and participant engagement across systems.
Position: Credible Mentor

What The Credible Mentor Does:
The person filling this position is expected, under close supervision, to provide consistent mentorship and support to Project Restore Brownsville participants. The Credible Mentor uses lived experience, strong community knowledge, and structured engagement to support participant accountability, reduce risk of retaliation, and reinforce positive decision-making. This role requires availability, reliability, and close coordination with program staff to meet participant needs.

When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
